10 Things I Hope To Accomplish In 2010

Thanks again Life at 7000 feet!
(Wow, is she really at 7000 feet? That is amazing!)

I think these are my favorite posts to do. I just LOVE a challenge that has to do with words. I just pick a topic and challenge myself to come up with 10 things.

10 things I am hoping to accomplish this year. If they don't get accomplished, I'm hoping to look back and see that I at least put some effort into them.        Do I sound like I'm doubting myself already?

#1 Publish my childrens' books

OK maybe not publish, but at least get the ones off the shelf that I have already written, write the ones that are still banging around in my head, look up "publishers" on the internet, and just go from there.

#2 Read the whole Bible

#3 Pray daily for my husband and our marriage

#4 lose weight

ugh

#5 Get a job

#6 Pay off  debt

#7 Find a church and go to it regularly

I love church, it has just been hard to find the right one since we moved. I looked when we first moved here, but just gave up after a few weird experiences. It's been 6 years. That's too long to go without having somewhere to worship and get "preached at" on a regular basis.

#8 Get my wisdom teeth pulled

Yes I still have my 2 bottom ones. I have had several different appointments to do this and have cancelled them all. I get freaked out  thinking about them ripping 2 huge teeth out of my mouth!

#9 Write

I have sooooooo much in my head. Ideas, Stories, Bible studies......I just don't always know what it all means, so I push it aside. But it doesn't go away. I need to get it all down and then at least it'll be out of my head!

#10 Be a better Mom

I know this is an every year desire, but it is just going way to fast! I want to be able to spend less time worrying about the messes, and the schedules, and the things. I want to spend more time really looking into their eyes, and doing the things that they're going to remember the most.

If you had one goal this year to be accomplished what would it be?

Have you thought about attending the SheSpeaks conference (by Proverbs31 ministries)? They have a speakers and writers track. I might go for the writing-- not to meet with publishers but just to learn and absorb. It might be a great way to make contacts and see exactly what it takes to get published.

Wisdom teeth-- not sure how old you are, BUT the older you get, the more your wisdom teeth grow into your jaw bone (especially in your 30s). SO the sooner you get those bad boys out, the better!

Goals for this year? To glorify God in ALL things and at ALL times and in ALL my moods. :)

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with bbile studies floating around in her head. :)

Good luck with your list!

I agree with you on so many. Well, not the wisdom teeth because mine have been gone for 2 decades, but you've seen my list. I think we think alike.

Good luck on getting your books published! My husband is an author of boring old history books (only on the side, he's a prof.) but he feels so proud. I know you will too!

I think being a parent is on many a list, m'dear. Great that you have goals to work towards in 2010. Love the idea of seeing your children's books in print sometime. Blessings on finding a church. It's hard to do, but obviously, you know that it's worth it. I hope you find one that just speaks "home" to you.

I'm terrible at making goals...I think it has to do with being a perfectionist and afraid I won't accomplish it! But my goal for 2010/life is: not to go through the motions, but to love God with my whole heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to show that by obeying Him.
(btw, I saw that you read the AD Chronicles, too--I just finished 11th Guest, and LOVED it!)

Wonderful things on your list with #2,3,4 &6 being on my mental list:)
For number 8 be sure and go to a good oral surgeon. I had all four of mine removed when I was a teenager and my recovery was a breeze and I credit it to a fantastic Dr.!

Haha! Yes, the elevation at my house is 6986. I like round numbers so I added 14 feet to make it 7000.

GREAT list. I didn't realize you were a writer. That is such a worthy goal for 2010 (the book publishing goal).

Good luck with the church search. It's hard, isn't it? I feel so blessed that we've found one that meets all of our needs/wants. And good luck with the Bible reading plan. Speaking of which....I should get to reading! Glad you joined me this month!
